Congratulations! You are healthy and have no medical problems. There are still things that you can do to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Try to get 30-40 minutes of moderate exercise on most days of the week.
  • Watch your diet and maintain a healthy weight.
  • Avoid tobacco and drink alcohol in moderation.
  • When trying to get pregnant you should avoid all alcohol.
  • Wear a seat belt and use a helmet.
  • Take a prenatal vitamin or at least 400mcg of folic acid per day.

  • Use reliable contraception until ready for pregnancy.
  • If you have prior pregnancy problems talk to your OB/GYN prior to trying to get pregnant.
  • Get your scheduled PAP smears and mammograms.
