Ready for pregnancy
  • Take a multivitamin with 400 mcg folic acid daily
  • Continue to exercise on most days to maintain a healthy weight
  • Watch your diet and consume healthy foods. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables (5-13 servings per day = 2 cups fruit and 2 1/2 cups veggies)
  • Inform providers that you are ready for pregnancy
  • Avoid known teratogens including alcohol and medications
